Welcome to our web site!

"My Book of Rhymes" is a collection of poems which morphed from the event of Hurricane Frances lurking off our Florida shores in September, 2004, and evolved into a compilation of happenings in and around my family of eight siblings and our offspring.  It touches on the Iraq War, the terrorists and Hurricane Katrina.  Although I had never written a poem before "Frances" except in my 'roses are red' era, I now seem unable to stop.

"Heartful Obligations" , is my first novel, and is in the category of 'romance'.  It is actually 'life', as depicted in the story about Olivia, an eighteen year old, who after many summers at 4H Camps, and graduation, decided to forego college and instead headed out west to pursue a career in art.  She finds survival very difficult until she gains employment in and 'upscale' art gallery.
After having  the good fortune of meeting movie stars and other people of money, she at long last receives high earnings as she begins acquiring commissioned work.  With this money she is able to purchase Hanoverian Horses, bred in the fine art of Dressage.  After a devastating heartbreak, a completely unexpected new world opens to Olivia.  Her quest then becomes the Equestrian Summer Olympics.  Along this road, Olivia runs 'smack dab' into life.

"My Book of Rhymes" was published and released by PublishAmerica, LLLP, located in Baltimore, with offices in Frederick, Maryland in the spring of 2006. It may be purchased at PublishAmerica.com, Barnes & Nobel and Borders Book Stores; as well as on line at Amazon.com

I am currently working on another book of fiction, as well as another book of poems.

A sample of  a poem in "My Book of Rhymes", and a tribute to USMC Cpl. Ian Zook, from  Port St. Lucie, FL., killed in Iraq, on October 12, 2004:

                                 HOMETOWN BOY

I never met your son, yet my heart aches and I too grieve.
He was the little boy at the park, who once there, never wanted to leave.

He's the little boy who brought home his works of art from school,
That covered your refrigerator.  He thought that was so cool!

He's the little boy you cuddled when he fell and scraped his knee.
The same little boy who tried many times to climb that big old tree.

He grew up, went off to high school, and made you so very proud.
He was a good person, got great marks, stood out in a crowd.

His quick wit, his sense of humor, brought a smile to your face.
And all the while, you admired his style and good grace.

He was of a kind and gentle nature. His Lord he did love.
He answered to this higher power, which comes from above.

He was a faithful servant, and knew God would show him the way.
He made the decision to join the service.  Many hours he did pray.

He joined the Marine Corps, to help advance his hopes and dreams.
To go into law enforcement, was just one of his wonderful schemes.

He went off to Iraq, this little boy, who too soon became a man.
He helped his fellow soldiers.  Was always quick to give a hand.

Then God called him home.  It's sometimes hard to know the reason.
But, we try to accept what we cannot change.  We know there is a season.

A time to sow. A time to reap. A time to live and a time to die.
He is where he is meant to be.  He would be sad to hear you cry.

God understands your grief.  He too, gave His much loved son.
And in your heart of hearts, you know - God's will be done.

Remember the things that made you smile and laugh, way back when.
And know that it is God's great plan...that you will meet again.
